The HP Smart application was downloaded specifically for Mac OS 11.2. I am connecting the printer to my USB. HP Smart is not able to recognize the printer. I am simply not able to print.

Hi,
The HP Smart app supports later printers, it does not support the Deskjet Ink Advantage 2135 on a Mac computer.
Download and install the HP Essential Software (HP Utility) and HP Easy Scan software for your printer by following HP Easy Start below:

Hi,
Is the printer powered on and ready with a solid power light?
Make sure there is no any error condition on the printer:
Additionally, check System Information and check if the Mac can see the USB-connected printer, regardless of the HP Installer, you should see the printer name listed there within the USB list, if its connection to the Mac is detected by the computer:

Also, try plugging the USB cable to another USB port of your Mac if there is any such.
If any of above doesn't help, I would also suggest trying another USB 2.0 cable, make sure it is not longer than 1.8 - 2 meters long and check for nay difference.

Easy start did work. It was not very intuitive but eventually I figured out.
I downloaded the Esssential Software and the Scan software, installed it and was able to connect to my printer.
My scanner is working now. My printer not yet, but I think I can now figure it out.
Thanks for your help. This can be treated as resolved.
