Hi @sparky96,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Deskjet 3052A printer is showing as offline when connected wirelessly but works fine with a USB cable, there could be a few reasons for this issue. Here's what you can try to troubleshoot.
- Check Connection: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your wireless network. Sometimes, printers can lose connection to the Wi-Fi network, causing them to appear offline. Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network by following the instructions in the printer's manual.
- Restart Printer and Router: Turn off your printer and then turn it back on. Also, restart your wireless router. This can often resolve connectivity issues by resetting the network connection.
- Update Printer Drivers: Make sure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause communication problems between the printer and your computer.
- Reset Printer Settings: You can try resetting the printer to its factory default settings. This will remove any custom settings that might be causing the issue and restore the printer to its original configuration.
- Check Printer Status: On your computer, go to the Control Panel or Settings and navigate to Devices and Printers. Check if your printer is listed there and if it shows as offline. If it does, right-click on the printer and select "Use Printer Online" to bring it back online.
- Firewall/Antivirus Settings: Sometimes, firewall or antivirus software can block the communication between the printer and your computer. Temporarily disable these programs and check if the printer comes online.
- IP Address Conflict: Ensure that there are no IP address conflicts on your network. Make sure that your printer has a unique IP address that doesn't conflict with other devices on the network.
Try these steps one by one and see if any of them resolve the issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
