@Nellie63, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Printer Issues on Windows 10!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your printer is showing as "ready" but isn't printing, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can follow before considering a full uninstall and reinstall. Here's a guide to help you resolve the issue:

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Guide

Check Connectivity:

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer either via USB, Wi-Fi, or Ethernet.
  • Check for any loose cables.
  • Verify that the printer is powered on and has no error messages displayed.

Restart the Printer and Computer:

  • Turn off your printer and your computer.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds.
  • Turn them back on to see if the issue resolves.

Check for Printer Errors:

  • Inspect the printer’s display panel for any error messages such as paper jams, low ink levels, or connectivity issues.

Set the Correct Printer as Default:

  • Open the "Settings" > "Devices" > "Printers & scanners".
  • Ensure your printer is set as the default printer. If it isn't, select it and click "Set as default".

Clear Print Queue:

  • Sometimes print jobs get stuck in the queue. Open "Control Panel" > "Devices and Printers".
  • Right-click on your printer and select "See what's printing".
  • Right-click to cancel all documents.

Run Troubleshooter:

  • Windows 10 has a built-in printer troubleshooter. Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Troubleshoot".
  • Select the "Printer" troubleshooter and run it.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
