I am running windows 10 and have a HP officejet pro 8715. For a couple years I used a desktop shortcut to take me to a program from which I could set up options as to where to save the file, etc.  I loved it as I scan all my tax receipts (hundreds) quickly and easily.  After the last update that was loaded onto the printer, this program would start to connect to the scanner, then hang up.  I unpinned it from the task bar, thinking I could reinstall it.  But after hours of searching... no luck... I have been to the HP website and it is ABSOLUTELY no help... All I get there is pressure to buy more ink!!!  I tried to down load software, but always came to a dead end...

I love the printer and that scanning program.  I can go to HP (not so) smart app and scan documents, but it takes three times as long.

I also have my OJ6700 attached and the old scan shortcut to this printer works fine...  When I look in the HP folder as suggested by another person, the 6700 is there, but not the 8715.

Where can I find the shortcut that I un-pinned from the task bar?  I thought it might go back to the desktop, but not.

Hi @ggrimley,

I'd like to help!

Let's try and uninstall the printer softwar and install the full feature printer software.

--->In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.

--->Select your HP Officejet Pro 875 printer.

--->Select Uninstall.

And then reinstall the printer full-featured drivers from software and drivers page

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Went through those steps, but still did not get the app to appear... Then I recalled that I also had it installed on my laptop, so I fired up the laptop, located the folder where the app was (it is called HP Twain)  Found it on my desktop and it worked, at least once...

Thanks for your helpl
