Deskjet 970 Cxi
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone,

I have a new computer running with Windows 10 and I'm trying to get my Deskjet 970 Cxi printer recognized.

I have connected it by USB to my computer and when I try to print, I can see my printer but the logo is pale / transparent ... printing does not work.

So I went to the HP support site https://support.hp.com/fr-fr/document/c04750623?fbclid=IwAR2DdWmbv6VkAJAMwoy-OzaiRM1IhyBf8boN4VWwAYF... which referred me to the HP site https://support.hp.com/fr-fr/document/c01829642?fbclid=IwAR3IYKaj2OmVo899wcI3ZdQoSgyFeTcmTa4smaVaHGC....

I followed the steps:

Step 1: OK

Step 2 (USB connection to a computer): Printer not detected

Step 3 (Windows 10.8 USB connection): Deskjet 970 Cxi is not in the list of HP printers (even if I have updated), moreover I'm not sure if I should select USB001 or another one (I have an HP Photosmart 5520 printer that is also connected to the computer)

I don't know what to do anymore. Is my printer obsolete? Mechanically it works, so it would be a shame...

I'm wondering if I should install a driver myself, but HP doesn't offer one. I have found some on other sites but I'm afraid of having a virus, moreover the drivers are always for Windows versions prior to Windows 10.

If any of you have an idea to help me I would be very grateful!

English is not my mother tongue so don’t hesitate to ask me it is not clear 🙂

Thank you very much,

Léa

Hi,

The drivers are available from Microsoft Update, these can be installed manually from the Microsoft Update Catalog if the automatic installation fails to work.

You may follow Method four below to manually install the drivers from the Microsoft Update Catalog:

Thank you ShlomiL for you answer ! 🙂

The link you provided me is for LaserJet and Windows 7 or 8. But I have a Deskjet and Windows 10. Should I follow the steps anyway?
