I've noticed that some printers support "PDF" as language (mostly the LaserJet Pro products, such as the HP LaserJet Pro M404dn) and some support "Native PDF" (mostly the LaserJet Enterprise products, such as the HP LaserJet Enterprise M406dn).

 

I then asked myself the following two questions:

  • What's the difference between "PDF" and "Native PDF"?
  • Do both enable directly sending PDF documents to the printer via its socket (IP + port) without a driver being involved on the client computer?
