Hello HP Support!
I have an HP Smart Tank 520 All-in-One Series Non-Wireless Printer where I have the difficulty in setting up this printer in Macbook Air M3 that has macOS Sequoia 15.5. Despite installing the HP Smart App, the device cannot detect the printer even though it uses the ethernet, and the wifi—the Macbook cannot connect to the wifi that the printer requires to connect.

I have also tried to manually connect the device to the printer, however there are no printer drivers and softwares present within the HP Website. I also restarted and updated the macbook, still no progress—it is not working either.

Could you please help me how to properly set and connect the printer to the macbook with macOS Sequoia 15.5. Also, I would like to ask for recommendations or suggestions of what printer drivers or softwares that is compatible in this OS.

Thank you for your advance help and consideration.

@user05054, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

To set up your HP Smart Tank 520 printer with your MacBook Air running macOS Sequoia 15.5, follow these steps:

Install HP Printer Software:

  • Go to 123.hp.com, download, and install the HP printer software for your printer model.

Connect the Printer:

  • Connect the printer to your Mac using a USB cable as your model is non-wireless.

Open System Preferences:

  • Click on the Apple menu, select "System Preferences," and then click "Printers & Scanners."

Add Printer:

  • Click on the "+" button below the list of printers.
  • Select your HP Smart Tank 520 from the list of available printers.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Verify Printer Connection:

  • Ensure the printer is displayed in the printers list and ready to be used.

If you experience any issues during the setup, make sure the USB cable is properly connected and try restarting the printer and your MacBook Air.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
