Changed to new computer with windows 10 pro, after re-installing the software for the Officejet Pro 8610, unable to setup the Digital Fax to Folder Setup. It was working fine on my old computer with windows 8.1, before upgrading to my new windows 10 pro computer. When using the digital fax setup wizard to either modify or setup the digital fax folder settings as advised in a support article, I get the error: "Error. Your printer cannot connect the server. Press "Edit" to correct server name and address."
I am receiving faxes & sending them no problem, just can't get them to save to folder. I have uninstalled & reinstalled the software several times but still have the same problem. Please help! thanks

Hi,
Please ensure that SMBv1 is enabled for your computer, the printer requires SMBv1 to be enabled to connect to a shared folder.
From the Control Panel select Uninstall a Program, then press on Turn Windows features on or off and check SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support among any of its sub-options, then follow the steps on screen to enable the feature and test the profile for the printer again.
Click the Yes button to reply that the response was helpful or to say thanks.

Before I could do what you wanted, my 8610 software isn't working, so I had to uninstall & reinstall many times but stil cannot get it working. The printer is on my computer & is working & so is the fax machine after reinstalling software but can get the software to install printer so can't open software from computer. (using wifi)
After installing software here is what happens, it finds the printer on network, I click on the printer to install but it just keeps going until get error Unsuccessful Network Installating. The printer was unable to be installed over the network. But it is there & prints from my computer through documents, but not thru software.. but can't scan through computer. Please help!

Please try the following:
- Open teh printer software and select Connect a New Printer.
- Select the listed printer and press Next, the software installation hangs on Installing Network Printer.
- Right click the Start menu and select Device Manager.
- Expend the Printers Category.
- Right click and select Uninstall on any listed HP Officejet Pro 8610 or any Unknown Device instance.
- Click Cancel on the HP Installation and allow it 60 seconds after the installation cancel
- Now repeat the installation (Connect a New Printer) and check for any difference.
