HP OfficeJet Pro 9013 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello all.

I have a brand new HP9013 Officejet printer - which I have scheduled to switch on at 05:00 and off at 22:00 daily.
However, each morning I find that the printer is not on as expected.
I see the auto-off function is enabled which is what I assume is overriding the scheduled on and off times … but there is no option on the printer control panel on the printer itself to DISABLE or SWITCH OFF AUTO-OFF.

I’m hoping there is a way to do so either via my Devices & Printers panel on my W10 PC?

Or perhaps in the web admin console for the printer.
I have checked both of these 2 mentioned areas already but cannot seem to find where to DISABLE AUTO-OFF.

Am I missing it somewhere/somehow perhaps?

It's not possible to disable Auto-off

Ok. But then what is the point of the scheduled on and off times - which are then void if you set them for a time range of 17hrs as I have?

Unless one is expected to set the scheduled time range to less than 8hrs??

Which is just really not convenient to say the least.

Is the printer ON at 05:00?

The printer will Auto OFF if not used ( that can be changed, max is I think 2 hours) if it urns on at 05:00 and nobody uses it it will schedule Auto Off at 07:00 ( if the Auto Off is set to 2 hours)

Correct. Currently auto-off is set for 8hrs.
So if it switches on at 05:00 and there is no use of it for 8hrs - this would mean it would AUTO switch off at 14:00.

[SIDE THOUGHT: I wish there was a way to set TWO schedules on-off timeframes for auto on and auto off, so as to have the printer AUTO-ON shortly after it AUTO-OFFS - but I don’t believe there is. Nor is there the ability to disable auto-off. Hence the problem now faced.]

I get the logic behind the auto-off … but the actual problem is that once the printer switches itself OFF AUTOMATICALLY AFTER 8HRS the scheduled ON doesn’t seem to function again - despite still being enabled and so programmed on the printer control panel.

So - here’s the problem laid out below (for days where printer isn’t used in the mornings):

*printer turns on at 05:00

*no usage means AUTO-OFF turns the printer off at 14:00 (which is fine - let’s say, for ^^now …)

*printer should then in theory AUTO-ON the NEXT morning at 05:00 … only it doesn’t!! AND HEREIN SITS MY ACTUAL ISSUE - predominantly. 😕

^^That said, the AUTO-OFF function (and ones inability to disable it) renders the REMOTE PRINTING ability USELESS for the most part - in that anyone sending prints to the printer then after 14:00 in the afternoon will be UNABLE to do so … (which is really frustrating - when trying to run a business from home, for example).

Hoping someone can possibly think of some sort of workaround for this for me? (fingers-crossed)
