I am getting a huge, unnecessary, annoying "Printer is offline" notification every time for some reason the printer is not on the same network (e.g. I log on my company's VPN).

How do I disable that? It's annoying and useless. I don't spend my time printing, so I don't need to know by the second if a printer goes offline. If it is offline, the moment I print something I'll know and that's fine.

This is bad UX and a gross misunderstanding of what the role of a printer provider is. You're providing a commodity output device, you're not an OS provider. You should not change the UX on an OS, even more so by installing crap software that does not align with the look & feel of the OS it goes onto. Nobody needs a "printing software" in which to choose a file to print; normal people print from the application. All we need is a driver and a nimble software to scan.

Anyway.

How do I remove these notifications. Thanks

Hi @HommeLibre,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query. I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you want to turn off the printer status notification for your HP DeskJet 3632 All-in-One Printer.

I suggest that you follow the steps listed below to turn off the printer status notifications.

1. From the Start menu or the Start screen and open Devices and Printers. Select any printer and then click "Print server properties" at the top of the window.

2. Click on the Advanced tab.

3. Clear the Show Informational Notifications For Local Printers option.

4. Clear the Show Informational Notifications for Network Printers option (if applicable)

5. Click OK.

Let me know how this works.

You have a good day ahead.
