Display light stays on all the time.   I do not  remember this being the case some time back or is this normal for this printer.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the display issue. 

 

Let's try a printer reset - 

 

1) Take out the cartridges.

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Wait for 30 seconds. 

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

 

Try re-configuring the "Scheduled On/ Off" using these steps - 

 

1) From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard.

2) Touch Settings.

3) Touch Power Management. 

4) Touch Schedule Printer On/Off.

 

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
