Do I need to install ink cartridges before connecting my printer to wifi DeskJet 2700 All In One

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to connect my wifi to an HP DeskJet 2700e All-In-One printer.  My question is:  Do I need to have ink cartridges installed in the printer in order to connect to my wifi?
