I am so disheartened by HP allowing the link to the scammer who took control of you computer and didn't even fix my printer.  Had a good look at all my files tho. I'm a savvy individual and they scammed me good.  The bank charge says DIGIREPAIRLL.  They repaired nothing and quite frankly I feel disgusted by the way the swooped in (like a predator).  Has anyone from HP ever apologized about the scams so many of us have fallen for?

HP expends a lot of time trying to track down and get scam websites posing as HP taken down. However they are not directly responsible for it and asking them to apologize for someone else's possibly criminal behaviour is like complaining to Mcdonalds about a burger you purchased at Wendy's. The internet is littered with sites that directly lift content and visual elements from HP's website and use website names and search phrases that ensure they often place higher on search engine results than HP does.

It is too bad that you were hoodwinked by one of these sites. I have escalated your post to the moderators and someone from HP may reach out to you via a private message on this forum to obtain details so they can investigate.

Interesting.  So are we not at a place in time yet where tech experts (I would think HP is considered an expert) can prevent this from happening?  How do banks and hospitals manage to have scam free sites?

You misunderstand, it is very likely you were not on an HP site, it was a site that looks like an HP site. As an example, here is one that is active right now, average user would think that this is HP
