HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3302fdwg

Hello, half a year ago I last tried to print double-sided from a Surface X with an ARM chip. It didn't work (was not available in the printing settings), but it's essential for my business.

Before I buy a new ARM Surface: Can anyone tell me from experience whether double-sided printing works now? My printers are HP Color LaserJet MFP 3302 and Samsung ProXPress C2680fx.

Thanks for any informations!

Hi @teorema67,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to assist you.

As of January 2025, there is no definitive information confirming that double-sided printing is supported for the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3302fdwg when used with ARM-based Surface devices. A recent inquiry on HP's community forum did not receive a conclusive response regarding this compatibility.

To determine if double-sided printing is now supported, you can check the latest driver updates for your printer model on HP's official website.

Additionally, reviewing the printer's user guides may provide insights into current functionalities.

I have a Color LaserJet Pro M252dw and have the same problem with a new Microsoft Surface Laptop Gen 7 with ARM chipset.  The generic Windows 11 driver only provides basic access to the printer with no access to double sided printing or proper colour settings.

This is a great printer and important to our business so I would like HP to come up with a solution.

Hi Dave,

have you tried the Universal Driver for ARM chips from the HP support pages (besides the Windows driver which does not provide double-sided printing)?

Thanks

Hi Andreas

,

Thanks for the hint about the sepcific ARM driver.  I had not seen this list previously when I selected Windows 11, so I tried again and a list of drivers appeared which was previously empty.  I found this ARM driver listed:

HP Smart Universal Printing Driver for Windows V4 (ARM64-bit)

I installed this driver.  It appears to have a little more functionality, but double-sided printing does not appear to be an option.  Assuming I installed the correct driver, is there any possibility that the driver will be upgraded to include the double-sided support.

Thank you for your help.

Hello Dave,

I was thinking about this driver:

But as far as I could find out, it is not suitable for the M252dw.

Maybe I'll order a Surface 11 ARM to test it. That's a lot of work, but what the heck... Otherwise I'll wait for the Surface 12 Lunar Lake.

Cheers

Andreas

Well, my problem is now solved by the new OLED Surface 16GB/1TB with i7 coming on Tuesday 😎 Uses the old printer-specific drivers for Intel.
