HP DeskJet 4258e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I purchased an hp 4258e printer recently and can not get it to automatically print on both sides of the paper. Does this printer actually support auto duplex? I am using windows 11.

Hi @YMLR,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP DeskJet 4258e does not support automatic duplex printing (auto double-sided printing). This means you'll need to manually flip the paper to print on both sides.

To manually print double-sided on Windows 11, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open the document you want to print.
  2. Go to File > Print.
  3. Select your HP DeskJet 4258e from the printer list.
  4. Click on Printer Properties or Preferences.
  5. In the print settings, you may see an option for Print on Both Sides. If it’s available, enable it. If not, proceed with the manual method:
    • Print the first side of your document.
    • Once it’s done, take the printed pages and reinsert them into the paper tray, ensuring they are aligned correctly for the second side.
    • Print the document again, but only for the pages you need to print on the other side.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
