HP OfficeJet Pro 9010e All-in-One Printer

Every time I insert a USB drive to use the Scan to USB function, and then after I plug the USB stick into my PC, I get a USB “check disk" warning reminding me to eject the USB stick before removing it (from my printer). Does the HP 9010 all in one have a USB eject function in the software? This happens every time. I think some people would ignore the “check disk” warning. But I have lost too many files through such errors and don't feel like I can ignore it. So, every time I use the Scan to USB function, I know I will have to perform a disk check when plugging it into another device. For the record, I do know there is a “Scan to” menu showing other options. But I would like an answer to the Scan to USB problem.

No, to avoid loosing files please

  • Format USB again
  • Only remove and insert when the printer OFF

Hope this helps

Regards.

Turning off the printer before removing the USB stick is the solution. Thank you for your help! I would like to add that this is an imperfect and irritating solution for those of us who subscribe to the HP Instant Ink Platinum Program where we are contracted to keep the printer on 24/7. I can think of a number of reasons why I might not remember to turn the printer back on right away. Consider this feedback to HP. Thanks again!
