I have a
HP Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M281fdw
Product # T6B82A
Is this suitable for secure “offline printing, scanning, and coping” using the USB connection to an “Offline Computer”?
In this example, neither the printer nor the computer have a connection to the internet.
Specific concerns/questions are:
- Does this HP Model have non-volatile memory that stores the content of print and scan jobs even after powered off?
- Can you do a “factory reset” to clear all user content including print and scan jobs?
- Does the "Job Storage" feature stores data internally or only on an external USB drive.

Checking on specifications for Laserjet M281fdw shows that this is a basic Laserjet model printer, security features are included only in Laserjet Enterprise models.

Yes you can use offline and connected with USB cable.
About your questions:
1. Laserjet M281fdw doesn´t have memory that stores content of print and scan.
2. Yes, you can do a factory reset using Control Panel printer option Service > Restore defaults.
3. Because this a basic model doesn´t have a Job Storage feature.
Only Laserjet Enterprise models have more security features like Job Storage and hard disk that stores content.
- For example: Laserjet Enterprise M507 has Security features like Job Storage.
