Hi @MarieMarie62,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing difficulties with double-sided (duplex) printing on your HP printer from a Mac, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

1. Check Printer Compatibility

Ensure that your printer model supports duplex printing. Refer to your printer's user manual to confirm this feature.

2. Update Printer Drivers

  1. Go to the Apple menu and select System Settings.
  2. Click on Printers & Scanners.
  3. Select your HP printer from the list and click Options & Supplies.
  4. Click on the Driver or Options tab and ensure that the duplex unit is selected.
  5. If not available or updating doesn't help, download and install the latest driver from the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.

3. Reset the Printing System

  1. In the Printers & Scanners menu, right-click (or Ctrl + click) anywhere in the printer list.
  2. Select Reset printing system. This removes all printers from the list and clears any job queues.
  3. Re-add your printer by clicking the + button.

4. Enable Two-Sided Printing in Print Dialog

  1. When you print a document, click Show Details to expand the print dialogue.
  2. Look for the Layout or Finishing settings.
  3. Check the box for Two-Sided or Duplex Printing.

5. Software Updates on macOS

  1. Check for any available macOS updates by going to System Preferences > Software Update.
  2. Install updates if available, as they may contain fixes for printing issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a blissful day 😇.
