I want to print double-sided, but I want the text to always appear on the same side of the page. Typically, with double-sided printing, one side is on the right, and the other is on the left. However, I’d like both the front and back to have the text aligned to the left side. Is this possible? How can I do it?

I might not understand what you are asking.

Your subject line mentions upside down printing on the back side of the page - "flip" orientation

and

The message might be asking about margins and how they are managed in document printing.

An attempt based on what we have...

Upside down printing is perhaps a result of selecting the "flip up" option as apposed to "booklet" printing - "flip over".

Incorrect margins -- when printing 2-sided -- is perhaps a result of the method used to print.

Printing from your browser, for example, is different from printing within an application or software program.

Browser printing generally follows the setups you designate within the Browser Print Settings.

For example,

  • Chrome, for example, might "default" the margins to other than expected - check / adjust the margins in Print Settings.
  • Firefox can be left as "default" or can be told (in Firefox > Print > Print Settings) to adjust the margins to correct the left margin.

What else?

Printing a document within a print application might follows the rules for the application sizing (Full / Fit).  "Full or Fit" is typical of how HP Smart Mobile document printing works -- The boundaries can be set to the edge of the document and the print can be "fitted" to the paper size and type.

In the case of print applications and print software in Windows, the duplex print format depends on the application used (and the document type(s) the application supports).

The margins in a PDF document are harvested from the original document format (for example, Word).

It is important to select the correct "flip" orientation:

Booklet flips the paper side to side

Tablet flips the paper up (at the top edge) so the back side print is "upside down".
