Windows 10 driver is not allowing for auto duplex in DeskJet 4675

DeskJet 4675
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-Bit)

I reinstalled Windows 10 on my machine, reinstalled the HP driver for DeskJet 4675 and out of a blue I can't print on both sides with automatic duplexing. Every time I print something on two sides there is a manual duplexing needed. Why? Sometimes, when I refresh the configuration in the driver, it allows for one-two prints with auto duplex, and then out of the blue driver shows again the word "manually", which was not the case before.

This applies to printing from Word and PDF viewer, which I tested now, so is not related to any specific software. It was working like a charm before reinstalling Windows and HP driver.

What to do?

@kumar5454, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand you are not able to print on both sides. Let us try these steps:

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.

If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your computer.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Use the HP Smart app to print and scan from your Win 10 PC

Click here to download and know more about the app.

For more info on printing on both sides (duplexing), refer to page 16 of the User Guide

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I have the same problem: HP DJ 4675, connected wirelessly to a PC Windows 10 home 64-bits. Sometime the Automatic Duplexing shows installed in the device settings, and sometime it does not.

I can get manual duplexing to work if I select "flip on...edge". I can never get the automatic duplexer to work. I've completely removed any piece of SW related to this printer, removed the printer in Printers and Device Manager, rebooted, resinstalled again (as I saw on saw other threads). And I still get not get autoduplexing to work.

I have HP Color LaserJet MFP M277c6 and it has a duplex installed but I cannot get it to print two sided either. I have completely uninstalled and re-installed the software for the printer and it still won't work. Settings show the duplex is installed, all my settings show to print double sided, but it doesn't. This is very frustrating!

Operating system: Windows 10 Pro 64bit, version 20H2

Just completed a fresh install with same HP SW on a computer which I borrowed (running WIN10 PRO), with same HP installation "DJ4670_Full_WebPack_40.11.1122_1.exe". I can now see exactly where the problem is in the printing preference: only manual duplexing available even though the duplexer is detected.

Please help.

THanks, Shimon

Yes, this model printer supports auto-duplex printing.

Did you use the HP Smart app and check if that helps?

Try printing different types of documents like PDF, Word, Webpages and check if the issue persists.

Keep me posted.

Hi Kumar,

I know the printer supports automatic duplex printing, was working well initially. Until it stopped showing the option to do automatic printing in the printer properties. The only option was to do manual printing. However, I may have found a solution:

1) I removed all HP SW and drivers from the computer.

2) open the printers folder, click "add" and let the PC find the printer on the network.

3) when found, approve PC connection to the printer. Voila, printer is connected, shows option to print duplex in the properties, and it works.

Question: PC offered to install App for the printer/scanner which is functional, however much less than the SW that is installed after the download from HP website. Printing is Ok with the App. Scanning is much more limited. How can I download the scanning SW only?

@Shimon888

Glad to know that you found a solution and you are able to print on both sides.

There is no standalone version of scanning software available. You may use the HP Smart app to scan from your computer.

Download it from the Microsoft Store.

For more info on scanning, refer to - How to scan with an HP printer

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
