Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I have an HP 8715 Inkjet printer.  After installing a new black ink cartridge  (from a 2-pack where the first cartridge worked fine), I received an error message that the ink cartridge was out of date and now I cannot print on my printer at all.   I need to downgrade the firmware, I believe , in order to be able to use the HP ink cartridges which is a genuine HP cartridge.  I also just purchased a multi-pack of color ink cartridges that I think are likely now to cause that same error message.  Can someone help me with how to locate the firmware downgrade I need to be able to use my printer and HP ink cartridges?  Thank you.

I see that you are facing cartridge issues with your HP Printer.

Please follow the steps listed below to clean the cartridge contacts.

  1. Open the door or lid to the cartridge access area. Wait until the carriage stops moving before continuing.
  2. Push in on the cartridge indicated in the error message to release it from the carriage.

Removing the ink cartridge

  1. Wipe the copper-colored contact on the cartridge with a lint-free cloth.

Cleaning the contact on the ink cartridge

  1. Slide the cartridge into its color-coded slot until it clicks into place.
  2. Repeat these steps for any other cartridges indicated in the error message.
  3. Close the door or lid to the cartridge access area.
