@SU456, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Digital Imaging Monitor and HP Officejet J4680 Setup!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

To connect your HP Officejet J4680 to your laptop, you need to ensure that HP Digital Imaging Monitor is installed and running. This software is typically installed as part of the full feature driver package for HP printers.

Steps to Download and Install the Software:

Visit HP Support Website:

Locate Your Printer Model:

  • Enter your printer model (e.g., HP Officejet J4680) in the search bar.

Select Driver & Software:

  • Choose the correct operating system for your laptop.
  • Look for the full feature driver package, which includes the HP Digital Imaging Monitor.

Download and Install:

  • Download the driver package and follow the on-screen instructions to install it.

Setting Up Your Printer:

Connect the Printer:

  • Connect your HP Officejet J4680 to your laptop using a USB cable.

Power On:

  • Turn on the printer.

Run the Setup:

  • After installing the software, the HP Digital Imaging Monitor icon should appear in your system tray, indicating that it is running.
  • Ensure the essential icons (scan picture, scan document, send fax, and HP Gallery) appear in HP Director or HP Image Zone.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
