All software wiped out by virus. Reinstalled Windows 10. Attempted to reinstall scanning software from HP website. Got error message: Error 2735.  What do I need to do to reinstall the scanning software?

Well time to start all over and hope for the best.

No you can not use that CD.  You installed Windows 10 so you must use Win 10 installation.

Here is your printers support site for your software and drivers.

Uninstall all HP software and drivers before you install the Win 10 Full Featured Software and Drivers.  Good luck.

Scanning issues…

Please try this scan solution:

HP Scan Extended

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"

Let us know.

Hi,

Follow the steps below to resolve a Fatal Error 2753 failure:

http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01779211

Follow the steps for Vista which are the same for Widnows 10.

I suggest starting with the following step first:

Step two: Remove HP files
  1. Right-click the Windows icon (), and then click File Explorer . Windows Explorer opens.
  2. Click This PC, then click on drive C: (or your hard drive).
  3. Open the Windows folder.
  4. Open the system32 folder
  5. Under system32, find the following files:
    • HPZipm12.dll
    • HPZinw12.dll
  6. Right-click each file, and then click Delete.
  7. Reboot your PC and try reinstalling the printer software.

If the issue remain, go through any steps of the attached document.

Regards,

Shlomi

Sorry for the delay in my response.  I downloaded HP Scan Extended.  During the download I got a message that Windows Live Mail needed to be updated.  As far as I know it cannot be updated and I don't know what that has to do with it. Anyway, when I click on HP Scan Extended, I get a message: "HP Image Device not found" even though the printer/scanner is on.

Now what?

I appreciate the advice. I'm afraid of loosing access to my printer.  I have the original disk for Window XP, Vista, &7 Version 14.1.0.  If I wipe out my printer, can I use that disk to re-install?

Thank you for your solution.  I had the Geek Squad perform the Downloads and I am now in business.
