Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,  My OfficeJet 3830 will not print, and in Outlook says, "Driver Unavailable".  I have tried removing all HP software from the laptop and reinstalling.  I have tried installing using the "Print and Scan Doctor".  I have tried installing using the HP Smart app.  Nothing fixes the problem.  The printer itself is fine - I can print without issue from another PC.    What else can I try?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Once done, please download and install the software from here:

I tried everything that was suggested and still have the Driver Unavailable issue.  When I try to update the driver, I get a message saying that the certificate is not digitally signed.  Do you have any other suggestions?

I've now counted three people telling you that they have tried the help documentation and it is not working for them. I made a comment in another post that detailed my step-by-step actions and the response. I will say it again here: when we try to remove the driver from printui.exe - even after giving admin approval, a step that you skip in your official support doc that will prevent users from being able to uninstall the driver if they don't click on the admin access button - EVEN after that, I'm getting told the printer driver is in use. Despite having uninstalled it everywhere else, and even uninstalling HP's app. There seems to be no way to get rid of this ghost driver which also makes Windows Troubleshooter report it can't get the printer's IP when the printer's IP shows up just fine upon scanning for printers.

Could you PLEASE give us SOMETHING?
