Every since my computer updated in December 2017. My printer have been stating that the driver is unavailable. I have re-downloaded the driver software so many times and still nothing has fixed the problem. i have ran the scan doctor that simply says that my computer and printer aren't compatiable and to contact this company for an updated version. Which prompted me to contacted customer service who refused to help me because my warranty has recently finshed. Every instruction I have been given from "HP Support" hasn't done anything but frusrate me even more.

 

I'm an college student, the whole purpose of having a wifi connected printer was to assisst me with my assignments, reaserch, and other things that help me generate an income.

 

So far I have been getting by with the email feature of printing things out we know for a fact everything cannot be print out in such a mannor, and after purchase my 8th pack of paper this year. Im extermely annoyed!

 

What can I do so I can print wirelessly again? Is there back up software catered to situations like this one? Will there be an updated software package geared towards the new window update? I've only had this printer for a year and would hate to think that it no longer works the way it's intended to.

Hi,
Please follow the steps below to resolve such an error:

**Be aware that if you have other printers installed on your PC, those will need to be reinstalled too once completing these steps.

1. Uninstall the HP Software from your PC.
2. Backup your registry prior making any registry changes:
     https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03485724
3. Update your registry using the Reg file below (that will change some printer related policies for your PC):
     https://www.dropbox.com/s/avbv56zdgwv7600/kernel.reg?dl=1
4. Right click the Start menu and select Run.
     Type Services.msc and press OK.
     Locate and stop the Print Spooler service
5. Browse to c:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers.
     Rename W32X86 to W32x86.old
     Rename x64 to x64.old
     Note: if any of these folders fail to rename reboot your PC and then Continue following the steps starting from Step 4...
6. Restart your computer.
7. Reinstall the HP Software and check for any difference
