Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and older

I downloaded the driver file, but it only contains a contents folder. There's no app to install. How do I get my printer up and running???

Hi,

HP Easy Start is provided as a  ZIP file which should run the install program automatically.

 

Try download it using below link and check:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip

If it fails to launch try downloading it using another web browser (e.g. Safari or Chrome) and check for any difference.

Hi,

What is your exact Mac OS X version? click the Apple icon > About This Mac to find it out.

 

The printer is supported on OS X 10.6 or later versions only, not on any earlier OS X version.

Solved. With Chrome, all I get is the contents folder (below),

but with Safari, that same link gives me an actual app file to install.
