Deskjet 840C
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a Deskjet 840C printer that is still in operation, but it does not support windows 10. How do I get the printer driver in windows 10? HP compliments, it has been working since 2001. And in the future, I would use the mentioned printer, no matter what I own and Deskjet 2130.

Hi:

See if this works...

Download and save the 3rd driver on the list (64 bit).

Download and install this free file utility.   The 2nd file at the top of the page is for 64 bit.

http://www.7-zip.org/

After you install 7-Zip, right click on the printer driver file you saved.

Select 7-Zip from the list of options.

Have 7-Zip Extract to:  And let it extract the file into its long folder name.  Ignore any generated errors.

Once that is done, add your printer, and when you get to the part where you are asked to install the driver, click on Have Disk, and browse to the printer driver folder 7-Zip created>prnhp001 (setup information file)>select the HP DeskJet 840C/841C/842C/843C printer from the list, and the driver should install.
