The hard drive failed and I had to install a new one plus Windows 10. Now the Dell PC refuses to load the J3680 software and driver from the original setup CD. HP no longer supports the J3600 series, and I can't find a driver for this printer anywhere that works on Windows 10. Does anyone out there have a solution?

Thanks for the info. On this post the download for J3680 is missing from MEGA. HP Easy Start identifies the printer but then loops you to HP Smart which cannot find it. Cannot figure how to get the IP.

Thanks for the info. The printer is connected because Windows identifies it with the message that setup is not complete. Tried this option and I get HP smart installer. On searching it does not identify the printer.

Hi @J--M
Ok, if you already check that your printer is connected with a USB cable, then try steps from the next video:

Thanks for taking the time to do the research and post. Refreshing to know that there are still good people out there. The YouTube video gave me some ideas in terms of where to look for solutions.
- I have Windows 11.
- The device was recognized by the OS and the hardware was ok.
- Settings>>Printers and Scanners>>Add Device>>Add a New Device Manually>>Last Option….add manually>>Use existing Port LPT1>>Next>>If your driver is not listed select >> Windows Update>> Then look for your driver and install.
- If this does not work try doing it through device manager. Your printer maybe under “other devices”
- It may still show in Settings that “driver is unavailable” but checking on device manager will fix any lingering issues. Restart maybe required.
- Device manager should show that it is working properly and it will print.
