Hi,
I am trying to connect the Envy 6020 printer for use wirelessly with my laptop (wired via USB strangely does work). I have tried a great number of installing / reinstalling / diagnose and fix etc but am stuck with the same problem. Under Devices and Printers the printer shows as 'driver is unavailable'. When running DIagnose and Fix in HP Smart it tells me the 'Driver Check issue not fixed'.
I have updated the printer firmware through the programme from HP website. I tried following the instructions for a 'root uninstall' on a support post which appeared to be the same issue. Still no luck
Please help.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
Firstly, remove all printer programs and printers from HP computer.
Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor: Follow steps from the link: Click here
Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers:
- Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Envy printer entries and uninstall them.
- Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
- Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
- Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
- Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
To reinstall, click here.
- If the issue continues, uninstall and reinstall printer Basic drivers from the link: Click here
- If the issue still continues, install using the Windows Built-in Print Driver: Click here
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
