  • Go to Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 and select Remove device.

Uninstall HP Software:

  • Find any HP software (like HP Printer Assistant) and uninstall it.

Remove Printer Driver from Print Server Properties:

  • Press Win + R, type control, and press Enter.
  • Go to Devices and Printers.
  • Click on Print server properties at the top.
  • Go to the Drivers tab.

  • Delete all files in the folder (skip any that cannot be deleted).
  • Repeat the process for %temp% and C:\Windows\Temp.

Clean Up Printer Driver Files:

  • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\W32X86 and C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64.

  • Download the latest driver for Windows 11.

Install the Driver:

  • Run the downloaded driver file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer.
