@Pamela789. Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

The message indicating that the printer driver is unavailable usually means that the driver is either not installed correctly, outdated, or corrupted. Here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue with your HP Envy 4500 series:

Check the Connection:

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer, either via a USB cable or through a wired/wireless network connection.
  • If using a USB connection, try using a different cable or USB port on your computer.

Reinstall the Printer Driver:

  • Open the Control Panel on your computer.
  • Navigate to "Devices and Printers" and uninstall the current driver if it’s listed.
  • Visit the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page.
  • Enter your printer model (HP Envy 4500 series) and download the latest driver compatible with your operating system.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.

Set Your Printer as the Default Printer:

  • Open "Devices and Printers" again through the Control Panel.
  • Right-click your HP Envy 4500 printer and select "Set as default printer".

Check Windows Update:

  • Make sure your operating system is up to date. Outdated system software can sometimes cause compatibility issues with printer drivers.

Restart Your Devices:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
