@Kevinr35, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Let's get your HP DeskJet 2800e scanner working again. When HP Smart reports a "Driver issue unable to fix," it usually means the required scan driver is either missing or corrupt. Here’s how to fix it step-by-step:

Fully Uninstall All HP Software

Open Control Panel > Programs and Features.

Uninstall anything related to:

HP Smart

HP DeskJet 2800e drivers

HP Easy Start

Reset Print Spooler and Remove Stuck Drivers

Open Services (Win + R, type services.msc).

Find Print Spooler, right-click > Stop.

Start Print Spooler again.

Open Device Manager, expand Imaging Devices and Printers.

Remove anything that shows your HP printer or scanner.

Restart your PC.

Download and Install Full HP Driver Manually

Go to the official HP drivers page:
Official HP® Drivers and Software Download | HP® Support

Enter your model: HP DeskJet 2800e

Download and install the “Full Feature Software and Drivers”, not just HP Smart or "Basic Drivers."

Restart your computer after installation.

Final Check: WIA Service

Open services.msc

Ensure Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) is set to Automatic and is Running.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
