Hi ferRX,

I really can not explain anymore what is happening. First of all: scanning works now!

But the HP solution center does not recognise the printing function - trying to check the ink levels, printing test pages etc does not work, because "the computer can not establish a bidirectional connection to the device".

In this context, printing from Word/Browser/Acrobat/... does not work either.

BUT then again after some restarting of the device (sometimes two or three times), suddenly printing works again as described earlier - no device recognised, yet the pages come out. Also I have to schedule the documents several times in the queue and and delete them again (that takes up to several minutes each!) until eventually one of them gets printed.

So it is a little inconvenient, but I made the thing work (somehow) thanks to your help. I got the device cheap and so I do not really want to complain as I can use its basic functions now.

The only thing about which I want to complain is that HP does not list the drivers on their website anymore.

So I would consider my problem solved. Thank you very much!

Have nice weekend
