Office Jet Pro 9010
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The documentation says that this printer supports duplex printing and that it supports A6 to A4 paper. What the documentation doesn't tell is that the duples is limited to just A4 (as far as I have tested it). When you want to print on A5 or A6 paper, you are lost.

This is a pitty and maybe a bit misleading but nothing is perfect in life. In this case there is a easy bypass: use manual duplex printing.  So far the theory. Live is a bit more complicated.  as much as HP make it's buyers do believ that the 9010 series supports duplex printing without telling this is not for A5 or A6 paper, the printer driver is not telling the software (WORD, POWERPOINT, PUBLISGER etc) that there isd no duplex printing when A5 or A6 paper is selected in the software. Dur to this ommision, the software still assumes that duplex printing is supported and not always privide the options for manual duplex. It varies: Word (YES), Powerpoint (NO), Publisher (NO). So this eliminates Powerpoint and Publisher as a possible option for A5 or A6 duplex printing.

Alternatively you could consider to transfer all printwork to Word as this provides manual duplex printing. But again this is the theory for this printer. Unfortunately using manual duplex result into pages will be printed out of sequence: Pag1, Pag4, Pag3 and then Pag2.  And here I'm at the end of my inventivity to find ways to find workarounds for all this ommissions.

I hope people from HP are reading this forum too and feel the urge to get this fixed as it is very annoying. I already discussed this issue with Microsoft. They have done all they could to help but after 1,5h at the phone they asked me to first discuss this with HP as they feel it is soemthing with the driver not telling the right info to the software (and i think they are right).

I'm open for any suggestion or solution. Thanks in advance, Hans Smits

@HansSM, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

According to the printer specs, this printer only supports duplex printing on Letter and Executive size paper.

To know how to print on both sides, refer to this document.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thanks for  your  response. It didnot solve my problem. In Europe we don 't have Letter  format at all.

@HansSM

In that case, please check the printer specs as to what size and type of papers are supported in your region.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
