Dynamic Security Firmware on the 8710 a option ? LMK please..Just bought one..

Hi , Quick question...I picked up a HP 8710 as the printhead on my Hp 6830 failed and didn't have time to wait for a replacement to get to me so ...OK not short.. I have a 8710 Unopened and want know if the Firmware is locked or unlocked and if so is the Dynamic Security Firmware released for this or a workaround with one of the other Firmware Releases ? My replacement 6830 will be here tommorow and now being able to use what ink I choose .....big bonus....I just may return the 8710 if it's locked...Use the Replacement refurb 6830...or use my 722c.. if HP releases  a Driver compatable for Windows 10 .. ...Seriously  .. Big $$$ swing  not having to feed 2 printers premium ..plus the upfront cost  of the 8710..trying to justify keeping both.....Thanks !!!

Hi Jim,

Any affected printers of the Dynamic Security Update were provided with an optional update to disable it.

The 8710 was not affercted by the dynamic security update, you may see any affected printer listed in the following document:

By the Way, the Deskjet 720c do compatible with Windows 10 as listed below, you may click teh printer model and follow the link to set it yp with the provided driver via Windows Update:

Thank you and I apologize for being ignorant delay in replying..

I have no clue what HP is do any longer as from I somewhat gather , they had cad something that would trigger if you used a off brand cartriudge..then the printers woundnt work, then I guess a regiononal lock cartridge and a device lock cartrge...to mkuch for me.. all i saw in big print was" HP lets you use any  brand".. you're on her enoungh so you know the  story..

AND thanks..thanks that 720C should work..seemed they were always interchangable..think mu OE disc is was720
