Is it possible to remove the dynamic security for this printer.  HP tech support says no over the phone even though it is illegal to block the user from 3rd party ink cartridges in the US and Europe.  This printer was manufactured post 2017.

The DS feature is within printers firmware, if you can access the older printer firmware without DS feature and run a downgrade then it will be removed.

HP technical support are saying that this feature cannot be removed from this printer.  I wondered if anybody had been successful at removing it with this model.

If HP technical support says so, then it must be the truth.

What did you expect that they would give you step-by-step instructions on how to get rid of their feature so the customer can buy and use cheaper ink.

Well, the practice of blocking 3rd party ink is illegal in both USA and the EU.  They have been sued and have paid compensation to customers, so yes, I suppose I was thinking that they might actually resolve this for me.
