HP ENVY 7640
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Please read this before you reply.  I've been fighting this for 6 months and have read many replies on this forum from my past post.

HP ENVY 7640 e-All-in-One Printer

Product number: E4W43A
Firmware: NSM5CN2022AR
Connection: WiFi private network

WiFi devices working correctly with the printer are Win Vista laptop, Win 10 laptop, and an iPhone 6 IOS.

Printer not working correctly with a desktop network connected via ethernet running Win 10 which was migrated from Win 7. The device worked correctly when running Win 7. After migration to Win 10, as per AT&T's instruction, I set the ethernet board Speed & Duplex to 100 Mbps Half Duplex so I could connect to AT&T internet. With these changes made, the desktop could print but not scan. As per suggested from the support forum and HP virtual assistant, I uninstalled the printer and installed with the latest software. Now the printer will scan but not print.

I've been working on this off and on for 6 months. I tried everything HP virtual assistance and the support forum has suggested but the results are always the same. I can scan but not print. Scan Doctor goes into a never ending loop initializing the install program. Never an error message. Just reinitializing the install program again and again.

If anyone has an idea of what is going on please advise. Keep in mind that I have gone through all of the help scenarios that are on the HP website. I'm all out of ideas. Except maybe going to Walmart and buying an Epson. LOL  Could it be in the printers device settings?

I want to add that HP Smart / Printer Reports works and triggers the printer to print the reports.

thanks,
wayne

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

If all the rest of the devices are working with Printer, except this, I do not see how this would be a printer issue.

I would recommend you to contact the HP Support Team regarding this as they can remotely access your Computer.
