Hi everyone,

I've set an admin password for the Embedded Web Server (EWS) on my Deskjet 3639 printer, but unfortunately, I can't remember it. I've already tried various reset methods I found online and on HP's official site (including factory reset and network reset), but none of them seem to remove the password.

From what I've read, there is a solution available, but it’s only shared privately. Could someone please provide me with that solution?

Thank you in advance!

Kind regards,

@Joebilly, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you've set an administrator password on your HP DeskJet 3639 Embedded Web Server (EWS) and are now unable to remember it, we understand how frustrating that can be.

Please note that for security reasons, once an admin password is set on the EWS, it cannot be bypassed or retrieved. The only supported method to remove the password and restore full access is by performing a full factory reset of the printer.

However, you've mentioned you've already tried various reset methods, including the factory reset. Please ensure you are performing the correct full factory reset, as some reset steps only affect the network settings and do not remove the EWS password.

You may refer to this guide to perform the factory default:'Restore factory defaults on your HP printer | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Garp, i must say, i don't know how can i describe my problem clearer as it is.

Maybe I can describe my problem better through posting this link here.

As I said, there are several posts regarding the same issues, which was resolved through private message (due to security reasons which i can understand). I can't do the factory reset on my printer because i can't access the EWS, that's the problem here, otherwise i would not have to post anything here.
