HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 All-in-One Printer

I have reset the network settings on my HP OfficeJet 8715. I am needing assistance with getting into my EWS/Local Server account so that I can access the options shown on the screen, "Scan to Email", etc . It's asking for my login information which I have misplaced. I have tried my HP.com and HPconnected.com logins without success. Thank you for your time and assistance in this matter.

Hi @Unknown_Future,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've reset the network settings on your HP OfficeJet 8715 and need to access the Embedded Web Server (EWS) or Local Server, you will typically need to enter the username and password associated with the printer. Here's what you can do to regain access.

Default Credentials: Try using the default username and password for your HP printer. These can often be found in the printer's manual or on a sticker located on the printer itself. Common default usernames include "admin" or "administrator," and the default password is often "admin" or left blank.

Reset to Factory Defaults: As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on the printer. Please note that this will erase all custom settings and return the printer to its original state. To do this, follow these steps:

  • a. Turn off the printer.
  • b. Press and hold the wireless and cancel buttons simultaneously while turning the printer back on.
  • c. Hold the buttons until the printer's control panel displays the "Permanently remove stored faxes?" message.
  • d. Release the buttons and follow the on-screen prompts to confirm the reset.

After the factory reset, you can set up the printer again with new login credentials.

Physical Reset: If none of the above options work, you may need to physically reset the printer by contacting HP support. They may guide you through a procedure that involves accessing the printer's internals and resetting the configuration.

Remember to choose a strong and secure password once you regain access to your EWS to protect your printer and network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
