Hello all,

i can't get any further.

According to web information from HP, there should be a UCP sticker on the printer with the pin for EWS. This is not the case with my printer. I find a sticker on the packaging box. There are data such as the WLAN MAC or serial number and so on. On the printer itself there is data engraved in plastic. But no pin there either. All I want to do is edit the power settings. Unbelievable but true everything is secured. Can you help me further?

Greetings

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

If you open the front cover of the printer - as if to remove the print cartridges - you will find the default EWS password (it's actually a PIN number) printed on the right, along with your printer's serial number.

Let me know if this helps.

Hello,

this is not the case with my printer. I have also had telephone contact with a support representative. He could not help here either. In the meantime, however, I have been able to find a solution. You can reset the password of the EWS. As a result, the login name in the EWS is admin and the password is empty. For this the printer must not be in energy saving mode. Press any key on the printer shortly. Now press the buttons for WLAN and cancel (button with the red X) together for about 3 seconds. That is all. Since the printer was not bought by me but by people in the Netherlands, I had previously asked there. As a result, HP had used an old UCP sticker where the PIN is missing. Neither the people from the Netherlands (the printer was originally packed) nor I myself have ever changed the password. The support staff did not believe this and said that the dialog for logging on to the EWS must be different. And therefore he comes to the conclusion it was changed by us. And you can not reset it. Both are demonstrably wrong. Therefore, there was also a corresponding evaluation afterwards.

Many greetings

I'm glad to hear that. Do get back to us in the future for further assistance.
