I have the exact same problem as obviously several users in the past.
I entered a custom complex password for the admin account of my HP color laser 150nw, saved the password my password tool but afterwards are told, the password is incorrect.
As stated in that thread, there seems to be printer specific ways to reset it, which seems very, very weird - but please tell me to reset the printer as I'd like to change WiFi settings and am unable to do so.
https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/ews-admin-password-reset-HP-color-laser-150nw/m-p/76... pretty much sums up my setup - I am based in Germany as well and obviously have the exact same model printer as @DerHarzer.

Here's a quick summary of what happened, if somebody else find's this post via search engine.
KrazyToad did send me instructions on how to reset the printer - but the reset didn't work unfortunately, even after trying several times. Afterwards a ticket was raised with HP support and they did contact me within a few days via telephone. It turns out, the 150nw does not have a "real" hard reset, and if the procedure for the soft reset shared by KrazyToad doesn't work, there's actually no way to reset the printer to factory defaults to delete the webadmin password.
Luckily for me, the printer was still within warranty, so I'll receive a replacement printer.
My guess for the background of the problem is that I used a complex password with special characters (I used a password generator) and one or more of the special characters are somehow misinterpreted by the printer. HP support couldn't really tell either but I suppose it's better to use a password with alphanumerical symbols only to be on the safe side.
Anyways, thanks to KrazyToad and the rest of the HP support team for all the effort! 🙂
