Hello, I've lost EWS login and password on my device. I did all reset steps that I found online. None of these work and pritner still wants me to enter password during installation by HP Smart.

Hello @arbesti, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP Ink Tank Wireless 415 printer.

We appreciate the opportunity to assist you and are glad we could help work toward a resolution. We hope our support has been valuable.

If you have forgotten the Embedded Web Server (EWS) password for your HP Ink Tank Wireless 415 series, you can reset it using the following instructions:

Factory Reset the Printer:

  • Performing a factory reset will reset the printer settings, including the EWS password.

Manual Factory Reset (via printer buttons):

  • Turn on the printer.
  • Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel (X) button together for 5 seconds.
  • The printer should restart or blink — this signals a reset.

After the reset, you should be able to access the EWS again without a password.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.

Hello, good day.

I followed the steps provided to reset my HP Ink Tank Wireless 415 printer. After completing the procedure, I printed the printer status report, and it shows the following:

Admin password: Not set

However, when I try to register the printer again using HP Smart, the application still asks for a custom password to access the printer’s Embedded Web Server.

I also tried accessing the EWS directly through the IP address:

http://192.168.223.1

I am able to open the Embedded Web Server page, but several options appear locked by the administrator, and whenever I try to access the configuration settings, it asks for a password again.

Could you please let me know what additional procedure I need to follow to completely remove the EWS password or unlock the administrator settings?

I am attaching screenshots and the printer status report as evidence.

Thank you.
