Brand new printer HP Smart Tank 7300 Series, mine is 7305. I set it all up and eventually got the printer to work. Today is doesn't! I keep getting an error message EXPIRED CERTIFICATE CHECK THE PRINTER FOR ERRORS. I have googled, I have done all the steps suggested to rectify and to print a new certificate it says page doesn't exist.
I have spent literally hours now trouble shooting this and I cannot get it to print. I consider myself quit tech savvy but this is just crazy that this issue happens with a brand new printer out of the box! I need this rectified, what are my options apart from taking this printer back.

Hi @JUSTINE007

Try with the option in Mac to reset printer system, follow steps from the next video:

Second option:

Hi, I have already tried all of these options and nothing works. The problem seems to be creating a Certificate, all of the options for creating a Certificate don't work, all the links provided don't open. I'm at a stale mate with a new machine. I've even tried opening the failed with a VPN and still no success. I'm out of options.
UPDATE: after talking with support we finally managed to create a new Certificate but they advise me I have to wait 24 hours for it to take effect? sigh...

Hi @JUSTINE007

Thanks for the update, I hope that after creating a new certificate your printer works good.

So 24 hours later, no resolve, still expired certificate error message. This is just insane for a new product out of the box to not just plug in and work! Three days later and countless hours spent trying to resolve and it still won't work! Frustration levels peaking now and I'm ready to throw the bloody thing in the bin and loose my $500AU!!!! and buy another brand.

OK so I finally got it working by using none other than AI to troubleshoot and fix the problem. My main sticking point was not being able to reach the printer URL page always unavailable, AI suggested to use Safari as the browser and I got in first go, with the first obstacle overcome I could then sync the time which was out and regenerate a Certificate and bingo bango I was in business. Such a painful exercise.

Hi @JUSTINE007

Great news 😇 and thanks for the update.

I have experienced same error with Expired certificate with a Smart Tank 210, and solved with first steps shared about Keychain access.

Happy to know that now is working 😇

I tried everything that was ever suggested. BTW there is nothing in the macOS Keychain that is even similar to what is suggested in the various threads.

I then remembered that I once used my MacBook Pro with the same printer (HP Smart Tank 7005) in another WiFi network. And then it dawned to me: on the other router IPv6 was disabled.

So I disabled IPv6 on the printer (not on the router, as this could have other side effects) and guess what:

No certificate error on my Mac Mini or my MacBook Pro (both running the current version of macOS)

When enabling IPv6 on the printer, problem came back.

Hope this helps someone.
