Hello everyone

 

We  have an HP LJ E877dn printer. The problem we are having is that I can not install the drivers for it. This HP easy install app turns out to be a pain in the ***. 

I have a laptop running latest MacOS 15. I downloaded  the drivers for the correct OS version. The printer is on a different subnet but routing is allowed between the two networks, so the laptop can ping the printer and access its webpage.

The installed however does not find it unless I manually look for the printer IP or hostname, which is fine, then it proceeds with Searching for software  but I get this message:

 

We were not able to automatically locate any software options for this product. Please go to the HP website and search for product solutions there.😖

 

Is there a way to find a PPD file for this printer? I couldn't find one after extracting the app with 7zip

 

Any help is appreciated.
