I am trying to change and view the settings on 192.168.1.81 but it seems that most items and tools have been locked from previously. When I press on Network, a box pop out and ask me to login. I do not know the username and login, are there anyway to recover or reset them without using the printer control panel as mine does not work?

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! After reading your post I see that you don’t remember the EWS page login id and password. I would like to help you out with this issue today.

Restore the factory defaults on the printer and then reconnect it to the network the request for a password no longer comes up.

  • On the printer control panel, press and hold the (Resume) button and the ( Wireless ) button, approximately five seconds, and then release the buttons.
  • Click here and refer page 18 in the User Guide.

There is no default username and password.

If you have forgotten it or acquired this printer from someone else then you will have to follow the steps for restoring the defaults on your printer to reset the username and password to something you can remember.

Note:  If you use ePrint with this printer, restoring factory defaults generally clears ePrint settings and requires it to be setup again. Also, this printer is most easily put on a wireless network via the computer software, so you'd have to reconnect it with the USB cable to a computer and set the wireless back up on the printer.

Let me know if that helps.

Cheers.
