I would like to enable OCR scanning on HP OfficeJet Pro 9010. I am working with MacBook Pro. HP Smart in the browser does not offer a lot of options. Do I need to download anything? Where? Can I change any settings? Where?

@luethia, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software installs with the driver for some HP multifunction printers. If HP Easy Scan has the option to save scans as RTF or TXT files, you can scan documents that you can edit.
1. Search the Mac for scan, and then click HP Easy Scan in the list of results.
HP Easy Scan opens.
2. Scan a document or photo using the app.
3. Click Send, and then select Folder.
4. Click the Format menu, and then find RTF or TXT.
- If RTF or TXT formats are available, select one, and then click Save to save the scan as editable text.
- If RTF or TXT formats are not available, your printer did not ship with OCR software. To scan as editable text, install software from a third-party vendor such as FineReader or Readiris. HP recommends that you contact the vendor to see if your printer is compatible, and for steps to use the software.
For Win PC, refer to - Scan as Editable Text (OCR) with HP Scan (Windows)
Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
