Hi @Susan297,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To enroll your printer in your Instant Ink account, you'll need to disconnect it from your mom's account first, as a printer can only be linked to one Instant Ink account at a time. Since she is unavailable to do this, follow these steps to regain control and enroll it in your own subscription:

1. Check Printer's Connection Status

  • Ensure your printer is online and connected to the internet.

2. Reset the Printer's Web Services

On the Printer:

  • Access the printer’s settings or control panel.
  • Look for Web Services or HP ePrint settings.
  • Disable Web Services.
  • Re-enable Web Services to generate a new Claim Code.

This step effectively breaks the link to the previous Instant Ink account.

3. Remove the Printer from the HP Smart App

  • Log in to the HP Smart App with your account credentials.
  • If the printer appears in the app, remove it by selecting it and navigating to Remove Printer (or a similar option).

4. Create a New Instant Ink Account

  • Visit HP Instant Ink and create an account or log in to your existing one.
  • Use the new Claim Code (generated after resetting Web Services) to enroll the printer in your account.

5. Enroll in a Plan

  • Choose the plan that fits your printing needs and follow the steps to finalize enrollment.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day
