A recent automatic updated driver happened on my ENVY 4520 and now I can’t print color; I find there is no BLACK&WHITE versus COLOR choice available in my PRINT PROPERTIES; only black happens. I have twice tried removing the printer and reinstalling it choosing both the BASIC driver version 10.0.18363 and the FULL FEATURE driver version 20.79.1.6594; still no color. I am running Windows 10 Pro, Build 18363. How do I get color back?

Did you uninstall the printer driver from root level?
If not, follow the below steps:

- In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
- Select your HP printer.

- Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
- Click on Drivers tab.

I tried the solution, twice, sent by Sandytechy20 --and it did not solve the problem. No color versus black&white choice is available in the Printer Preferences menu. This not a problem in the printer itself because the printer prints perfect color when I use my other laptop running Windows 8.1; it also worked on this Windows 10 Pro until last week. Something is messed up in the driver. Please help.

Just for kicks, I tried the built-in drivers for a direct connection thru a USB cord (STEP 1). Then I am able to print in color. Performing STEP 2, connecting the printer to WiFi, appears to work --but that does not get my computer talking to the printer. STEP 3 supposedly gets my computer talking to the printer, but the printer won't print in color when that driver is in the loop. You'd think that if the USB driver functioned (as it does) and both the computer and printer were in the same WiFi router system, that everything would be AOK. Not so. The driver HP is offering by way of their WiFi wizard is not providing full printer capability when used within my Windows 10 operating system.

Yes, I am unable to print in color when I go the WiFi route. The driver for the direct-connected USB gives me color, but not the driver that loads when I print by way if WiFi. The printer is connected to my WiFi router and my laptop is connected to the WiFi router --and printing happens, but not in color. Color versus BLACK&WHITE is not selectable when using WiFi.
