Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

I've been having problems with my HP Envy pritner. I've updated all the OS and printer drivers, and now I can't print in colour, there is no colour option in the advanced printer properties,

I've uninstelled, reinstalled, switched off and on again,  I can't roll back to a previous windows 10 update, because the update is older than 10 days...

I really need my printer to print in colur, it's an integral part of my business.

I've checked all the forums and googled for a solution, but the solutions offered don't work.

Please help 😞

Welcome to the HP Support Community

This is a driver issue.

Run Print Scan and Doctor to fix driver issue.

Click on this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/topic/printscandoctor for using HP Print and Scan Doctor.

If the issue persists, I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and Install the drivers, follow the steps below:

Remove the USB if connected

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

Then, Click on this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-envy-4520-all-in-one-printer-series/54... to download and install the HP ENVY 4520 series Full Feature Software and Drivers.

try to print in color.

I am at the end of my tether with this issue, so frustrating. I have followed the instructions again & again.  The first test page comes out in colour thereafter back to black only.  Seriously thinking of changing my printer to one that can work.....

@VeloLeClosier,

Thank you for reaching out to the HP Support community!

  • Does the copy work fine from the printer?
  • What are the ink levels on the cartridges?
  • From which application are you trying to print?
    • Have you tried from a different application? Do you face the same issue?
  • Have you checked the print settings? Sometimes grayscale printing or printing in black only would be enabled.

Verify if you have followed all the troubleshooting steps mentioned in this document.

Please provide the above information to assist you with accurate resolution.
