Envy 5530 firmware US/Europe

I have an Envy 5530 purchased in France. It takes a 301 cartridge. I am now in the US and this cartridge is unavailable. The US model uses a 61 cartridge. My printer will not accept this cartridge.

If I do a US firmware update, will my printer accept the 61 cartridge or will it hose it up completely?

Yes, we'll have to do a region reset.

To do a printer region reset you need to meet the following conditions:

1. The printer should be connected using a printer USB cable to the computer.

2. You need to have the printer full feature software installed on your computer. 

3. You need to have all the cartridges from the old region/country.
